Millwork Commons Neighborhood Welcomes Google Fiber

Omaha, NE – Millwork Commons is pleased to announce that Google Fiber will be bringing their first Nebraska office to the Ashton Building. The Millwork Commons area is growing quickly, establishing itself as Omaha’s hub for tech, art, design, and community activation. With more than 70 companies and nonprofits located in the neighborhood, Google Fiber, will be a welcome addition advancing the growth of the innovation and technology sectors.

In 2022, Google Fiber kicked off the expansion of their fiber-to-the-home network to Omaha, NE. Construction to lay the fiber network started in the summer of 2023, and began serving customers in the city last month. While building their network, Google Fiber is eager to develop their main office in Millwork Commons which they expect to start this spring. Initial designs have already been approved.

Millwork Commons is known for inspiring and supporting the work of innovators and creators. Located on approximately 50 acres near 13th & Nicholas Streets in Omaha, the neighborhood is a blend of historic buildings and new construction intended to strengthen Omaha’s urban core and offer a uniquely vibrant and inclusive place for the city.
